Congratulations to the 2016 Brain Injury Association of Canada National Youth Award Winner

Andrew has done so much to raise Brain Injury Awareness since he started his website, I wanted him to be recognized for all that he has done. The Brain Injury Association of Canada had a call for nominations for their 2016 National Awards. I thought this would be the perfect way for Andrew to be honored for his part in raising awareness through his website, bracelet sales and especially for getting Marcus Stroman of the Blue Jays to show his support on instgram spreading awareness to over 17,000 followers.

I sent an email and explained Andrew's efforts to raise awareness and right away I got an email back say "You're son is amazing, I will contact you in a few weeks." A few weeks went by and I thought, there are lots of kids in Canada doing great things maybe there was someone they thought was more deserving. I was happy for the chance to nominate him and would just try again next year.

A few more weeks passed and I got a call from the award selection committee and was told Andrew had won the 2016 National Youth Award. We were invited to the Award Luncheon at the Chestnut Centre in Toronto where he was given his award in front of a large crowd of people. We are so proud of Andrew for how strong and brave he has been after everything he has gone through and turning such a horrible event in his young life into something so positive. We are thrilled that other people are seeing how our wonderful kid giving back and raising awareness for something so important to him .

We are truly blessed to have Andrew fully recovered and back to the wonderful kid who I know is going to go on to do great things in his life.
