THANKS TO THE STAFF AND STUDENTS AT CAPTAIN MICHAEL VANDENBOS

This year at school I asked if I could start a Brain Injury Awareness Day at school. Mrs. Thompson, our principal helped me start a Brain Injury Awareness Month. We had two assemblies. One on June 1 were we had speakers from the Ontario Brain Injury Association come in to talk to the students about protecting your brain and giving us a better understanding of the effects of brain injuries and how it can affect people in different ways. We sold bracelets and buttons to raise money for Sick Kids Hospital throughout the month and on June 23 we had speakers from Sicks Hospital talking about how important it is to give back to your community. This year I was able to raise $276, together with last year's bracelet sales at my school, they helped me raise almost $700. Thank you to Mrs Thompson, all the teachers and all the kids at Vandenbos supporting me.
